Nitro World Games heads to Brisbane, Australia next year October 23-24, 2021
(September 13, 2020) Nitro Circus, in partnership with the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland and Brisbane City Council through Brisbane Economic Development Agency, announces that Nitro World Games will make its Australian debut next year. This news sees the revolutionary action sports competition resume its international expansion.
Coming to Suncorp Stadium on October 23–24, 2021, Nitro World Games Brisbane will draw athletes from across the globe to a country that is already home to some of the most prominent figures in action sports. Next year, the best in freestyle motocross (FMX), BMX, skateboarding and scooter will battle for championship honors while pushing the limits of human achievement. The Nitro World Games is an annual extreme sports event organized by Nitro Circus. The event was originally held in 2016 at Rice–Eccles Stadium, and moved to the Utah Motorsports Campus in 2018.

In December 2015, Nitro Circus CEO Michael Porra and Travis Pastrana announced the creation of the Nitro World Games, with the inaugural Games scheduled for summer 2016 at Rice–Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. The city was selected for its history with the 2002 Winter Olympics and Nitro Circus.[1] The Nitro World Games 2016 were held on July 16 with seven gold medal events.[2]
The 2018 edition was moved to Utah Motorsports Campus in Erda. Rallycross and FMX Quarterpipe were added, with the former competing on a track designed by Pastrana.[3][4] BMX and skateboarding events were conducted at the CA Training Facility in Vista, California,[5][6] while scooter competitions were held at Adrenaline Alley in Corby, United Kingdom (ScootFest) and Paris, France (Scooter Best Trick).[7][8]
The 2020 edition was set to be held at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, however it was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
